ILS investors ‘increasingly confident’ over Uri recoveries: AM Best

AM Best has detected a note of optimism among ILS investors who are “increasingly confident” over a lawsuit relating to Winter Storm Uri that could bring subrogation gains to insurers and reduce aggregate reinsurance losses.

The upbeat viewpoint relates to a case where more than 130 insurers are jointly suing Electric Reliability Council of Texas, and dozens of power-generating entities, for grid failures that exacerbated insured losses.
