Most of the losses occurred in France, followed by the UK and Belgium.

Perils has increased its industry loss estimate for Storm Ciarán by 2.5% to EUR1.9bn ($2bn).

In December, Perils estimated that the weather event caused EUR1,889mn in insured losses.
