Reinsurers’ underwriting margins will likely peak in 2024 as carriers benefit from the major price increases and tightening of terms and conditions secured during 2023 and early 2024, according to Fitch.

The agency added that reinsurance market conditions are likely to begin softening in 2025 as strong reinsurer returns attract new capital into the sector.
