Fema’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has placed $619.5mn of reinsurance cover for 2024, a 23% increase on last year’s $502.5mn limit.

The cover will trigger above $7bn of losses, with the attachment point level to that of last year, having escalated significantly in 2023 over 2022.
