Suncorp within natural-hazard allowance despite Australian storms

Australian insurer Suncorp has confirmed it expects to be within its natural-hazard allowance of A$680mn ($459mn) for the half-year to December 2023, following the severe weather events that have impacted Australia’s east coast.

The insurer’s full-year natural-hazard allowance is A$1.36bn.

Suncorp also has a reinsurance program with a maximum event retention of $350mn and a 30% Queensland home quota share.
