ILS funds that play across the risk spectrum will enter 2024 buoyed by a second round of the healthy premium levels that helped to drive strong ILS returns in 2023, as property cat rates at 1 January shaped up to be flattish overall.

ILS consultancy Siglo said “we are still in a hard market phase” at the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024 and has forecast returns of 11%-13% for “a balanced ILS risk-return profile” through 2024.
