Perils pegs Storm Ciarán losses at EUR1.9bn

Perils has released its initial industry loss estimate for windstorm Ciarán, estimating that the weather event caused EUR1,889mn ($2,076mn) in insured losses.

It said the “vast majority” of industry losses relating to wind damage were reported in France (EUR1,593mn).

Ciarán made landfall in southwestern England on 2 November at 952 millibars, the lowest pressure ever recorded in England and Wales for November.
