K2 Advisors anticipates ‘fresh capital’ in ILS at January renewals

K2 Advisors has said “there will likely be fresh capital entering the risk transfer space” at the January renewals, owing to strong pricing indications and given the strong performance of the ILS asset class over the first nine months of 2023.

Capital was expected to flow into new start-ups and collateralised reinsurance sidecars, “which had generally fallen out of favour over the last few years”, the investment manager said in its Q4 hedge fund strategy outlook.
