Allstate records nearly $1.2bn in Q3 cat losses after September clocks in at $317mn

Personal lines giant Allstate recorded cat losses of $317mn in September from 17 events, bringing its Q3 total to $1.18bn.

Most of the losses, around 80%, were the result of two wind and hail events and were partially offset by favorable reserve re-estimates for prior events, Allstate said Thursday.
