Travelers cat losses leap to $850mn in Q3, up 66% year-on-year

Travelers booked $850mn in pre-tax catastrophe losses in Q3 2023, the result of “numerous” severe wind and hailstorms in multiple states.

This came in 66% ahead of the $512mn in cat losses recorded during the same period last year, reflecting the degree of cat loss activity that has remained with primary insurers in the US this year.
