Perils increases loss estimate for Emilia-Romagna floods 29% to EUR488mn

Loss aggregator Perils has estimated that flooding in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy in May will cost insurers EUR488mn ($533mn) in claims.

The updated estimate was 29% higher that the EUR377mn loss pick Perils published in July.

The central Italian region was struck by heavy rain and flooding in May following a prolonged period of drought.
