The Lahaina Fire’s insured property losses will likely be an earnings event for the P&C industry, but it may take longer to have clarity over reconstruction costs and contingent BI claims, according to industry sources.

Early estimates from modeling firms suggest a range from $1bn to a little above $3bn, with a majority of the damaged structures being residential.
