Severe storms comprise 64% of global H1 cat losses on average

Severe thunderstorm lowering cloud threatens tornado

Severe convective storm losses contributed 64% of the average global cat loss estimate of around $50bn in H1, according to reports from Aon, Gallagher Re, Munich Re and Swiss Re.

Aon’s H1 cat report put losses at $53bn, while Gallagher Re’s number was $52bn, Swiss Re estimated $50bn and Munich Re was at $43bn.
