Ark posts Q2 combined ratio of 89% as GWP swells 50% to $606mn

Ark has reported a combined ratio of 89% in the second quarter as it continued to ramp up its premium income, with gross written premiums up 50% on the prior-year period to $606mn.

The combined ratio was up 2 points on the prior-year quarter, including 4 points of unfavourable prior-year development from Winter Storm Elliott and three large claims in the property and marine and energy lines.
