Market conditions continued to favour reinsurers at the mid-year renewal, with no sign of an end to the “positive environment” for them, according to Swiss Re CEO Christian Mumenthaler.

Speaking after the publication of Swiss Re’s H1 results, in which the carrier’s P&C re unit revealed a combined ratio of 91%, Mumenthaler said market conditions are the best in a decade.
