Stone Ridge has appointed former New York Life chairman Ted Mathas as a senior adviser to help scale its suite of products for insurers and financial advisers, and to provide mentoring and guidance to executives and operating subsidiaries.

Mathas was CEO of New York Life for 14 years, steering it through the global financial crisis and Covid-19 pandemic, and tripling its assets under management to $760bn.
