Severe weather losses in the US during the first quarter could hit a modern-day record of $9.5bn, according to BMS.

In note from senior meteorologist and SVP Andrew Siffert, the broker said that claims from thunderstorm, hail, tornado and high winds should come in at a $7bn-$9.5bn
