Convex Re has placed its Hypatia Re cat bond securing $150mn of coverage for named storm or North American earthquake event, with pricing 22% below initial guidance.

The pricing on the Class A notes settled at 9.5%, lower than the initially guided range of 11.75% to 12.5%,
