Fema payments for Hurricane Ian surpass $1.2bn

FEMA US Homeland Security Form

The US Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) has paid out more than $1.2bn to National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policyholders for damage caused by Hurricane Ian.

The agency has received more than 46,000 claims. The payment figure is up $430mn since the last update at the end of November.
