RenaissanceRe CEO Kevin O’Donnell said the firm has the capital to “lean into” the upcoming renewals, with “ample capacity” to grow participation on upper-end reinsurance programmes through its joint ventures Top Layer Re and Vermeer Re.

“We will lead from the top down”, he said, noting that increased demand for cat cover will be at remote risk levels.
