Hannover Re expects EUR1bn additional cat demand in Germany at 1.1

Hannover Re’s German business E+S Ruck has estimated that German primary carriers will look to buy EUR1bn ($986mn) of additional nat-cat cover across the market this year, which would be higher compared with the additional demand of EUR800mn last year.

This reflected inflation and increased modelled exposures, mainly for flood and to some extent winter storm, in the past year.
