Travelers has accumulated $1.4bn of qualifying property catastrophe losses through to the end of September, eroding 70% of the $2bn retention on its catastrophe aggregate reinsurance coverage.

The company has a $225mn property aggregate catastrophe excess of loss treaty in place, which runs on a calendar year basis.
