Swiss Re has estimated Hurricane Ian claims of approximately $1.3bn, with a Q3 group net loss of around $500mn.

The carrier said it is now unlikely to meet its group return on equity (RoE) target of 10% due to the losses but has maintained its 2024 profitability targets.
