Citizens lowers Ian-related claims estimate to 100,000, loss estimate unchanged

Florida Citizens is now expecting 100,000 claims from Hurricane Ian, less than half of its initial 225,000 projection.

The state-backed insurer's claims tally was just over 47,000 this morning, meaning roughly half of its total estimate.

Its loss estimate of $2.3bn
