Hannover Re retains EUR316mn Ukraine losses for now

Hannover Re has not passed any of its provisioned Ukraine losses on to retro providers to date, having reserved EUR316mn for the war so far.

On an analyst call following the publication of the reinsurer’s Q2 results, Hannover Re said it has made no retro recoveries for the losses arising from the conflict, but stressed that this could change in future.
