Last-minute tabling of Florida market reforms has added a “stressful” edge to renewal negotiations as up to 25 carriers could fail to place programs before their coverage expires, Demotech president Joe Petrelli said.

Petrelli was aware of 20 to 25 companies that may be unable to place their programs fully, which he estimated amounted to 15%-20% of the Florida home-owners market by gross written premium.
