UK February storms cost carriers £500mn

The damage caused by storms Dudley, Eunice and Franklin in the UK in February will likely create around £500mn ($626mn) in insured losses, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

Insurers had received 177,000 claims resulting from the storms for damage to homes, businesses and vehicles, with payouts of £497mn anticipated, the ABI said.
