Florida insurers have kept their participation in the state reinsurance scheme at high levels, with average participations up a notch, ahead of what is expected to be a highly challenging private market renewal at 1 June.

The average participation rate in the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (FHCF) has moved to just under 86%, from 85.8%
