Florida insurer lawsuit burden eases in February

The number of new lawsuits filed against Florida’s largest insurers eased back in February, falling 11% from January 2022 levels, according to CaseGlide data.

January lawsuits had spiked 37% on the prior month’s figures, representing a better month for the embattled carriers.

The absolute level of new litigation in February remained above 4,000, which has been the average for the past seven months.
