Germany commits EUR21mn to climate risk as IPCC issues dire warning

The German government has committed a further EUR21mn ($24mn) to improving climate resilience and risk analytics, as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issues its “bleakest warning yet” on the state of the global environment.

The money committed by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation will go towards protecting poor and vulnerable countries from the adverse effects of climate change, as well as growing local capability in risk analytics.
