Swiss Re ups 2022 cat budget by $400mn to $1.9bn

Swiss Re has increased the nat-cat budget for its P&C re unit to $1.9bn for 2022, a $400mn increase from 2021’s $1.5bn, as group CEO Christian Mumenthaler emphasised the carrier’s diversified balance sheet.

The reinsurer published its 2021 full-year earnings this morning, in which it revealed a P&C re net profit of $2.1bn
