Swiss Re cut $2bn aggregate capacity in 2021 as it swung back to profit

Swiss Re’s P&C reinsurance unit has reported a net profit of $2.1bn for 2021 compared to a loss of $271mn the year before, as the carrier cut back its property aggregate exposure.

Swiss Re said it deployed $2bn less capacity in property aggregate and frequency covers than in 2020, and slashed large corporate liability risks by 60%.
