MGA operations help Markel's ILS revenues grow by $1.1mn in 2021

Markel’s full-year 2021 figures showed ILS unit Nephila grew operating revenues by $1.1mn to $202mn, helped by MGA operations, although this was partially offset by lower investment-management fees.

Fees were higher in 2020 due to release of capital from side pocket reserves and owing to higher average AuM in the year.
