Top tier ILS managers shed 6% of assets in tough start to 2022

The top tier of ILS managers with more than $2bn of assets under management (AuM) lost 6% of their collective assets in the second half of 2021, as a combination of catastrophe activity and redemptions resulted in one of the steepest declines for this peer group in the past three years.

The headline figures are a conservative estimate that will underplay the true contraction of capacity in some cases, due to data that is available only on a lagging basis.
