The UK government has opened a consultation on proposals to exempt ILS from stamp duty, as part of moves to encourage transactions in the UK market.

HM Treasury has been taking soundings from ILS and reinsurance operators in the UK and Bermuda as it seeks to understand what adjustments to UK legislation could help to boost ILS activity.
