The COP26 climate talks in Glasgow represent progress towards a necessary reduction in carbon emissions “but not victory”, with concerns remaining that pledges do not go far enough, according to Swiss Re.

In a briefing published yesterday, the reinsurer acknowledged that 197 countries had signed the Glasgow Climate Pact, which introduces rules for carbon markets and is the first ever deal to explicitly plan to reduce coal.
