Universal Insurance Holdings ceded $76.4mn of hurricane loss development to its reinsurers in the third quarter, a decrease of 29.7% compared with $108.7mn of ceded losses for Q3 last year, according to the company’s latest filing.

The Floridian carrier confirmed that it had recorded zero losses from weather events beyond those expected in Q3, compared to $68.0mn,
