An “underwhelming performance” in catastrophe activity and examples of trapped capital have led capital inflows to ILS to “somewhat slow,” Everest Re CFO Mark Kociancic said on the firm’s Q3 earnings call today.

He said the ILS market’s performance on catastrophes and the impact of climate change were still in the process of being understood.
