Bernd to be Allianz's largest nat cat loss at EUR1.1bn

Allianz has increased its Storm Bernd flood gross loss estimate to EUR1.1bn ($1.3bn) from EUR900mn as it warned that increasing exposure to flooding would “impact on capacity allocation”.

The claims burden covered Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands and included industrial customers.

The largest share, EUR700mn, has been set aside for clients in Germany, and payments of more than EUR100mn are expected to go to companies in western Germany...
