NHC warns of flash flooding as Hurricane Nicholas makes Texas landfall

Hurricane Nicholas made landfall at 12:30 CDT on the eastern part of the Matagorda Peninsula, about 10 miles west-southwest of Sargent Beach, Texas, according to the latest National Hurricane Center (NHC) update.

The NHC said the centre of Nicholas was expected to move slowly over southeastern Texas today and then over southwestern Louisiana on Wednesday.
