Reinsurance loss activity to date in 2021 leaves outlook finely balanced: Aon

Aon’s head of business intelligence Mike Van Slooten said there was both bad and good news for reinsurance buyers, as reinsurers’ strong capital positions stood in contrast to the high level of catastrophe loss activity so far in 2021.

“Thinking about upcoming renewals, there’s quite a lot of sensitivity as to what happens in the rest of this year,” he noted in an Aon briefing today.
