Dixie Fire destroys more than 1,000 structures

More than 1,000 structures have now been destroyed by the Dixie Fire, which continues to rage in northern California and is only one quarter contained.

It its latest update, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reported that the blaze was burning across more than 490,250 acres, with winds and dry vegetation pointing to the potential for further growth in western regions.
