Hiscox takes $190mn of gross ILS inflows as it grows net reinsurance book

Hiscox brought in $190mn of gross inflows from ILS investors in the first half but, due to prior redemptions, the carrier grew its net reinsurance book significantly while keeping gross premiums more stable.

This came as it grew overall London market gross premiums by 10%, deploying more capital into what it described as a “hard market” for big-ticket business.
