Guy Carpenter has predicted that the number of tropical cyclones forming over east Asia could rise more than 40% during this coming storm season.

The carrier said the number of cyclones forecasted to emerge over Japan, China, Korea and other East Asian areas on the Pacific coastline region could be up 44% from the 1980-2020 six-month average for April to September.
